GameWatch Location Information 2008

WE GOT SOME "CANES OVER HERE!

Downtown
5 W Hubbard (Hubbard & State) Chicago, IL

Hey Downtowners we will once again be returning to Mother Hubbard's. This is of the top sports bars in the city. You think the ESPN Zone would be good? Mother Hubbard’s has SIX 10ft projection screens. Second only to Joe’s but at Mother Hubbard’s we are the only College team! Compare 16 to the ESPN Zone’s single screen. Some of you prefer watching the ‘Canes on your HDTV at home. Mother Hubbard’s also has TWO 16ft HDTV screens. They also have numerous plasmas and tube TVs throughout the facility. As if the TV’s are not enough I can confirm they have great burgers and the nachos rock as well. The menu is pretty extensive and so is the tap selection. Come check this place out. The owners have committed to having the game sound on for all games and will reserve seating for us. It is going to be a great location so come check it out!

Suburbs
The Fox and Hound Smokehouse and Tavern (2004 Sun Times Review)
910 W. Dundee in Arlington Heights

We will return to Fox and Hound for our suburban GameWatch location. Fox and Hound is an sports bar and restaurant that is similar to a Champps with upscale decor and billiards. Based off attendance last year and the caliber of the facility we are excited to return to Fox and Hound. For those of you who failed to come by last year this is a great place. At Fox and Hound we have a private room in the back with FOUR big screen TVs along the back wall and more TVs around the tables. Orange and Green balloons throughout the room and a top notch menu make this place an awesome experience. The management caters to our every need and we even have our own volume control. The manager has become a Canes fan and will hanging “Canes Fan Parking Only” signs throughout our room! She even told the Penn State group that they were not welcome anymore. Talk about support.

Interested in Helping With the Game Watches?
The Chicago Alumni Club is looking for a few alumni to help coordinate the game watch parties. Duties include collecting the sign in sheet, keeping a head count, acting as the liaison for the locations management and organizing raffles during the game watches. We are looking for people for both locations. Contact Brian Kidder if you are interested in learning more.

These GameWatches only work if we make a concerted effort to represent "The U" at these establishments who commit time and space for us. The more fans the more support these buisnesses show our club through the year. We will only support two locations as long as attendance merits the expansion. So come on out and support your team with fellow 'Canes fans! We encourage parents of students and any and all 'Canes fans to join us.
